Full main programme revealed: Tommy Cash, Mezerg, Rita Ray, Viagra Boys, HU? and more
The new international festival Tartu Punch, taking place at the Tartu Song Festival Grounds in early July, revealed its full main programme today. Performing across three live stages on 3–4 July will be HU? with their only concert of the summer, Rita Ray with a special string orchestra project and special guest Vaiko Eplik, French electronic music sensation Mezerg, Estonia’s most internationally successful artist Tommy Cash, Viagra Boys fresh off winning four awards at the Swedish Grammis, and many more.
“Super exciting to see Estonia finally getting a festival with proper international ambition that focuses on music that is relevant here and now in a tasteful way. The artist lineup speaks for itself. We’ve been trying to bring Viagra Boys to Estonia since 2019. Tartu Punch is finally making it happen. Definitely the FOMO festival of the upcoming summer!” comments Roman Demtšenko, founder of Paavli Culture Factory, on the launch of the new festival.
Among the artists announced today are three new headliners. Tommy Cash can arguably be considered the most successful Estonian artist in the world. Soul diva Rita Ray is another musician with clear international reach, performing at the festival alongside a string orchestra and special guest Vaiko Eplik. Also arriving at Tartu Punch from France is electronic music sensation Mezerg, one of the world’s best-known theremin players, whose energetic live performances blend club music with jazz-inspired improvisation. The genre-bending and distinctive style has earned him a rapidly growing international fanbase and a reputation as one of the most unique emerging artists on the European scene.
Nine more artists were also announced today, including SADU, the “must-see” act of the upcoming festival season, performing their only concert in the university city this summer as part of Tartu Punch. Also joining the festival are Adult DVD (United Kingdom), YASMYN (Estonia), Pearly Drops (Finland), Mihkel Kuusk (Estonia), EKLEKTIKA (Latvia), GØK2 (Estonia/Turkey), juni (Italy) and Fonda (Estonia).
Previously announced headliners include HU? (Estonia) and Viagra Boys (Sweden), as well as Baxter Dury (United Kingdom), Jack Garratt (United Kingdom), maria kallastu (Estonia), Oscar Jerome (United Kingdom), Night Tapes (Estonia/United Kingdom), Yin Yin (Netherlands), Holy Motors (Estonia), EiK (Estonia), Rick Feds (Latvia) and Frankie Animal (Estonia).
Festival gates will open at 2 PM on both festival days, with the programme running until midnight. DJ, film and talks programmes, as well as a series of pre-parties, afterparties and more, are still to be announced. In addition, music will reach the streets of Tartu on both festival days through a free city programme featuring pop-up stages across the city.
Festival passes, youth and children’s passes, and day tickets are available via Piletitasku.
The event is supported by the City of Tartu.
